From The Playground To The Jungle

The gates have closed and now I’m on my own

Alone I stand deserted by those closest

If the stick and stones begin to break my mind

Still I’ll be searching for reason that I can’t find

I never knew

Life could be so cruel

But justice

Another broken rule

The years have passed but still it lives with me

I’m haunted by the ghosts of childhood past

All I wanted was a life to live

But seven deadly sins I can’t forgive

Stare though the glass

Your museum case lives

Another twist

Of the bloodstained knife

Through the years this is what I see

For all the things I can’t believe

The fire that burns in me

I live each day as it comes

Survival is an instinct

That exists inside me

Inside me

And still life goes on
